Johnny Wu inducted into International Indie Filmmakers Hall of Fame

Johnny Wu’s films has been shown worldwide at festivals, conventions, and a few have been selected for distribution. Johnny has been recognized as one of the prominent filmmakers in Ohio and one who of the few to have film distribution deals.

Johnny Wu, an award-winning filmmaker active since 1998, was inducted into the The International Indie Filmmakers Hall of Fame for Outstanding Achievements in Editing. This honor occurred during the 17th Indie Gathering Film Festival on August 16-18, 2013 in Hudson, Ohio.

Johnny Wu has been inducted to several hall of fame organizations for his involvement and achievements in martial arts. With the Indie Filmmakers Hall of Fame induction, Johnny is grateful to the filmmaking community for recognizing his 15 years of editing experience. In 2003, Johnny Wu started a community networking group for filmmakers in Cleveland, a monthly gathering for filmmakers and enthusiasts to meet, get to know each other, and work on projects together. Ten years later, Cleveland IndieClub is still going strong and is being recognized as the best indie film group in Ohio by the Cleveland Film Commission.

Johnny, with a broad background in business (MBA) and computing, synthesizes the raw creative talent at MDI to bring his client’s messages to the public. A visionary consultant to many local businesses, he works with clients to clarify objectives, identify needs, and deliver solutions. And with lifelong training in the martial arts, his eyes have been opened to the value of preparation and mental acuity; a new prospect swiftly brings his pen to paper. From the earliest stages of a project, Johnny serves as liaison to MDI’s powerful production team, the perfect director and team leader. Recipient of two 26th Telly Awards and one Bronze Telly in 2007, Johnny has produced films and also events with the participation of celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Will Smith, Kevin Bacon, Steven Seagal, Pamela Anderson, Kid Rock and others. Johnny is also the administrator/founder of Cleveland IndieClub.
