Roger and Dave is a fictitious short based on a personal experience that tells a story of a person with DID...

Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) Formerly called Multiple Personality Disorder, characterized by the existence of two or more distinct personality states that have the capacity to take control of the body... Co-consciousness refers to the level of shared awareness of existence and behavior between the host personality and their alters. It is estimated that 8% of general population in the USA has symptoms related to DID.

The average person diagnosed with DID spend 7 years in the mental health system before being properly diagnosed. Four times as many women are diagnosed as men.

Two non-profit groups based in the US that disseminate information on DID are: The Sidran Foundation and The International Society for the Study of Dissociation
