some of the MDI's Award Winning Team Members:
Johnny
Wu: MDI's business and application developer,
director, editor, and project planner is a model of precision.
With a broad background in business (MBA) and computing, Johnny synthesizes
the raw creative talent in MDI to bring your message to the public. A
visionary consultant to many local businesses, he works with clients to
clarify objectives, identify needs, and deliver solutions. And with a
lifelong training in the martial arts, it has opened his eyes to the value
of prepearedness and mental acuity, and a new prospect quickly brings
his pen to paper. From the earliest stages of a project, Johnny serves
as liaison to MDI's powerful production team, the perfect director and
team leader. Recipient of 2 26th Telly Awards and 1 Bronze Telly in 2007,
Johnny has produced films and also events with the participation of celebrities
such as Alicia Keyes, Wil Smith, Kevin Bacon, Steven Segal, Pamela Anderson,
Kid Rock and others. Johnny is also the administrator/founder of Cleveland

Peter
Sampson:President
& Creative Director of Sampson/Carnegie Company, a premier brand strategy
firm located in Cleveland, Ohio. With
a Bachelor degree in Advertising and Marketing from Purdue University
‘82, Peter Sampson was recruited to manage the advertising department
for the Americas Divison of RE Instruments Corporation, a high technology
electronics test and measurement company. RE Instruments Corporation is
a United States subsidiary of parent company Radiometer Electronics A/S
headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. In
1987, Mr. Sampson returned to Cleveland and formed an advertising agency
with two partners, the firm was named; Strickland/Sampson/Sullivan, Inc.
For more than four years Mr. Sampson built the agency into a consumer
based firm with over $2 Million in gross billings. In
1992, Mr. Sampson sold his partnership share and founded
Sampson/Carnegie, Company, Incorporated with five other professionals.
Mr. Sampson is chief account strategist, planner and creative specialist.
He has won two MCAN awards for effective media management. Mr. Sampson
is at the base of responsibility for the success of the programs, marketing
solutions and creativity from Sampson/Carnegie. In
2001, the Sampson/Carnegie Company branched into film and video production,
taking responsibility to fully produce content for television spots, CD
Roms, DVDs and web applications. Mr. Sampson has been awarded three Telly
awards for cinematography on client projects, music videos, short films
and, most recently for work as Director of Photography on the Johnny Wu
feature length film: The Rapture, which was released in 2007. Mr. Sampson
and the team at Sampson/Carnegie Company are proud to provide brand strategie
services as well as production crew gear and related services to MDI projects.
Raymond
Elkin: With 2 ½ years of Business Administration
at Cuyahoga Community College, Mr. Elkin has extensive experience with
office management, quality control, customer service, and accounting /
bookkeeping working at several regional corporations. Mr. Elkin has been
helping Johnny in filmmaking projects since 2001, Mr. Elkin will function
as the Treasurer for The
Rapture. Mr. Elkin also has done editing
work for MDI.
James
V. Geier:
An electrical engineer by trade and a “general
purpose geek” by inclination, Jim has been a lifelong fan of science
fiction and fantasy — both film and print — as well as comic
books. He has an abiding interest in the history of science, mathematics,
philosophy, and religion, and a tendency to discuss such issues until
everyone else’s eyes glaze over. Jim also contributes DVD and movie
reviews to an online news and commentary magazine. Jim provides script
analysis and support. He co-wrote MDI's The
Rapture and Jean
Claude the Gumming Zombie.
Shawn
Wickens: Shawn, with a Master degree in Communication
at Cleveland State University, brings his abilities and enthusiasm to
every project. Through his experience in print and visual media along
with his computer skills, Shawn provides production and finishing solutions
with a sharp eye for cohesiveness and quality. Shawn is currently pursuing
interests in animation (watch his recently release short The Drinking
Games), and has proved valuable in the creation of Flash and Director
presentations. His leadership skills have greatly enhanced MDI's team
functioning, and Shawn continues to benefit MDI through his skill and
dedication.

Andrew Forthofer. Andrew is excited about Cleveland's growing film industry. He earned a Bachelor’s of Film and Digital Media from Cleveland State University in 2011 and has been a valued member of our team since 2008. The recent grad serves MDI through editing, visual FX and green-screen composition. He also directed the short film Visions, an official selection of the 2009 Indie Gathering International Film Festival. Andrew has shown initiative and recently took over as post-production supervisor for OCA’s Image TV. He continues to help MDI through his professionalism and attention to detail.
Jeff
Yanik:
From the early age of ten, Jeff Yanik knew that he would someday make
movies. After working in cable television and acting on stage during his
high school years in his hometown of Solon, Ohio, Jeff went on to attend
Ohio University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Video
Production and a minor in film. He then received a Master of Fine Arts
degree from the University of Miami’s Graduate Motion Picture Production
Program in Coral Gables, Florida. While at Ohio University, Jeff directed
the short sci-fi comedy Variable Skies. During his time at the University
of Miami, Jeff produced and directed the award winning suspense thriller
Murder at Midnight and the politically based character drama Broken Oath.
In addition to his main interests of directing and producing, Jeff has
also served in a number of different crew positions on various projects.
He served as an assistant director and art director on two award winning
short films at the University of Miami. He also served as an instructor
for undergraduate film and video production classes at the university.
A frequent collaborator of Jeff’s is composer Jonathon Cox. Jonathon
has composed the original score for all three of the short films directed
by Jeff Yanik. In the summer of 2006, Jeff produced and served as 1st
assistant director on the feature sci-fi action film, The
Rapture, which was directed by award winning filmmaker Johnny
Wu and shot in Cleveland and Port Clinton, Ohio. The
Rapture is currently scheduled to be released in the spring of
2008. Jeff is currently working with Johnny Wu and MDI on developing two
new short films as well as the feature film, Trail
of Bodies. Trail
of Bodies is based on the novel by Kreig
W. Vens. Jeff will be producing the film as well as serving as
second unit director. Trail
of Bodies will be directed by Johnny Wu.
Kyle
Znamenak: Recently graduated in psychology major at Baldwin
Wallace college in Berea, Ohio. Kyle began studying acting in high school,
in which he earned his membership to the international thespian society
as well as being elected thespian president in 2002-2003. Kyle has performed
onstage for several years until he was invited to work on one of Johnny’s
film “A
Joker’s Card”. Kyle has always had a fascination
in movies, especially Horror movies made on a small budget. By being within
“A
Joker’s Card”, it sparked an interest in Kyle and
has directed couple of short films of his own. Kyle is currently in his
short film Jean Claude the Gumming Zombie and he is co-writing a feature
film for their next project slated for principal photography in Fall 2009.
Mr. Znamenak will function as the Secretary for The
Rapture LLC. Mr. Znamenak has provided editing and voiceover
work for many commercials for SportsTime Ohio.
