Did you know that every Hollywood film is dubbed? Lines spoken by the actors on location are plagued by poor audio, random interference, and extraneous noise! We decided early on that our audio would need to be professionally recorded in a studio, along with the incidental noises that accompanied our actors’ movements. These re-recordings are known as ADR, or automated dialog replacement. Incidental noises like footsteps and the rustling of clothing are handled by Foley artists, and it is critical that these performers can accurately reproduce sounds that were present at the time of recording, but are poorly represented in the location sound mix.

Althought with major national projects secured for 2001, MDI is still accepting submissions from independent filmmakers looking for crew members to help with the production of their motion picture project.  We have a range of services perfect for the working filmmaker.
