A Joker's Card still continue strong, it was announced recently that the trailer for it wins the competition at my43.net website and today, there is a write up by Julie Washington on Plain Dealer, featuring the film and our next feature The Rapture, check it out!

A lot of updates

After a year of promotion, I am happy to announce that A Joker's Card won 3 awards, screened at festivals, and now being repped for distribution. In addition, a feature film The Rapture was produced inspired by the success of this one.

A Joker's Card is continuing showing at places, it was shown as part of fan films at Universidad Abierta Interamericana's Cinema Festival called Prometeo in Argentina

In 2007, it is going to be part of the Twyman Creative Network's online jukebox plus it is going to be shown at Torino GLBTQ Film Festival (April 19-26, 2007) in Italy.

It's not because we didn't have any news, but we had soo many news that it's crazy, first, DVD set is almost done! Three festivals have requested a copy of the short film to be considered, they even waive the entry fees, locally, many had seen the work-in-progress short film and love it, so it's a great start. Incredible music scores being created and we can't wait to showcase it all, behind-the-scene interviews are done, it will be part of the DVD set
. Blue-Ize Magazine graciaiously donated advertisement space for promotions! AJC is flying high!

Premiere date and location is set: Friday, April 22 from 7pm to 9pm at the Grid'n Orbit, 1437 St. Clair Avenue, open to all, FREE, 150 people will get the DVD set which include the movie, bloopers, CD Soundtrack over 2hrs of video footages! We will have appertizers, entertainment and cash bar.

A lot of great news: first A Joker's Card is featured at Kungfu Cinema, not to mention at other websites including Bluetights.net, Fan Boy Theatre, etc. (more at the forum)

A work-in-progress version was shown at Mr. Big's location last Monday Jan 3, 2005 and received a tremenduos interest, everyone enjoys it.

2nd teaser is cut, now awaiting scores. VFX/CG for the first 2 scenes are underway thanks to Tom Luhtala and Alan Tuskes (our visual effects guys!) Editing scene 4 and brainstorming on the opening sequence. Done some very basic test in color processing for final look, things are moving ahead on schedule!

A Joker's Card is currently featured in Comics2film.com as well! Both above and Bluetights.net are waiting for closer to date to do interviews with the cast and crew.

A lot of updates, since September 24, we had a main crew meeting at one location and a full discussion planning went through, then we have Nightwing's outfit and Ekin Tzu's mask done, plus now this Saturday, October 9, we will be doing wire testing and safety walk-through to make sure everything is covered. Directions to locations is plotted for people and costumes are being finalized!

We ran into some minor setback, it's dissapointing but nevertheless, we have the other team working right now to get it done, it would cost more but we can't do much at this point. Saturday, September 25th will be our first main crew meeting, and we will head to the warehouse location to check on the set. Things are still moving forward slowly...

Storybard has been completed, actors are preparing for their roles, wardrobe are currently being finalizing, we are on track! Visiting Cuyahoga Community College to finalizing the usage of their location.

The Day to remember what happened in NYC. At the same time, it is the day that Andy and Johnny both started their first rehearsal, some pictures taken as well. Wetsuit is almost finished, some more touch up to be made, big thank to Tom for getting it donw. Storyboard is almost done as well.

Today we are painting the wetsuit and videotaping the progress. Wire work concerns has been convered, wardrobe has been discussed and shooting breakdown has been scheduled. Picture is now availabe at the Behind the Scene page.

All locations have been secured, now we have a total of 7 locations that will be used in the short. We also have secure the usage of a helicopter for aerial shots needed. Rehearsing has begun! Our sound engineer agreed to produce 5.1 surround sound for the project! We want to thank those who had put their heart and soul tomake this an reality!

All cast and crew are being informed of the shoot dates: October 14-19, 2004. Storyboard is almost done, cast being measured for outfitting and Wetsuit for Nightwing is almost completed. We also have our first Nightrang designed. Locations for Joker's hideout is almost finalized!

Wetsuit is now given to our FX Makeup artist Tom Luhtala so he can start the painting. New opening music is now online (the almost final one) for anyone interested in hearing. We would like to take this moment to thank Margaret Wong and Associates for their support to our project, thank you!
Waredrobe measurement will start tomorrow (July 21 and on) we want to fit everyone accordingly thanks to Christine Chapman

Some good news: Wetsuit arrived and Andy Schofield who is playing Nightwing tested it out with harness within and it looks fine, so now it is being sent to Tom Luhtala to get it painted. To the sad news, one of the producer will no longer participate with our project due to uncontrollable circunstances. Sadly that he has to go. Opening score is almost finished!

A lot of great ideas has been discussed between the composer (Arya), storyboard artist (Adam), FX Makeup Chief (Tom), AD/2nd Unit Director (John) and myself on the feel of the story. Wetsuit for Nightwing has been ordered and I will be meeting with Edward Ostrander (UPM) and Christine Chapman on Monday concerning the waredrobe and makeup need for the talent.

We signed up with an Associate Producer, Annie Jones, she is committed to try to get us all FREE breakfast, lunch and dinner meal for 3 full day shoot time from different restaurants, now less to worry! We also have Extra Casting Agency working with us thanks to Annie Jones.

Storbyard pages are now starting to come in thanks to Adam Glazer, an example page is available at the Behind-the-Scene page. Many concept on our own Nightrang been thought of and designed, we are still looking for one that is sleek and semi-functional. ;)

I would like to apologize to the filmmakers at Two Man Movies for miswording used within the Character Breakdown list. It has been corrected and I wanted to let everyone know that they have been extremely helpful and supportive to this project as a big brother, there isn't anyway to thank them enough!

We have secured our Behind the Scene crew with the help from Robyn Griggs and Keith Kline (also our official still photographer). Robyn will be the director/co-producer of all the featurrettes that will be included in the final DVD version to be all given away to interested party. (limited edition) Other crew members

Storyboard artist Adam Glazer is getting some first pages of the drawings done shortly. Our FX Makeup artist Tom Luthala finalized the test with wetsuit and now it's official, we will be getting it all in shortly for painting. Additional work is done with the sword for safety concern.

Robert Banks Jr. and Erik Holmberg are now part of our crew, they will be lending a hand with lighting and electricity for 2nd Unit. Vince Fries' goggles arrived today, very slick looking.

Audese Green came onboard to help with Publicity/Marketing and participate in any aspect of the production. Possible addition is graphic designer/storyboarder/photographer. And finally, Stephen Lebed, Visual Effects Supervisor for Charmed offered help in wire-removal, visual effects for Gotham City and others.
Tom Luhtala is now testing some Nightwing's suit material ensuring we have the best outfit for the story.

A Joker's Card is currently in pre-production, planned to be shot during late Summer or early Fall, testing of wire-work been done and weapons, masks, gloves/boots, batarangs, and body suits are currently being produced.

Two locations being secured, one will play Mr. Big's crib while the other is Nick Grayson's apartment. Video of each being tape for location references.
