After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, several thousand Japanese American families were taken from their homes along the West Coast and placed into internment camps. After their incarceration, many of these Japanese Americans were resettled into communities throughout the country. One such location was Cleveland, OH. Through the stories of some Cleveland residents who expereinced this mass migration, this documentary explores an often overlooked part of America's history.
"An American History: The Resettlement of Japanese Americans in Cleveland" was made possible through a grant from the National and Cleveland chapters of the Japanese American Citizens League.
WE MUST EDUCATE OURSELVES OF THE PAST SO THAT WE DO NOT REPEAT IT.
